It's funny how a lot of people seemed to have thought the clouds were waves. A few commenters didn't seem to work it out, so I'm sure a lot of voters had that impression too! I didn't see the photo like that, because I knew the sky was impressively overcast that day. I guess it's kind of an optical illusion that I didn't intend.

Interesting. I like the colours. I can't really get over how diseased the icy rose looks... it's not very attractive to me, but then subverting the usual imagery of a red rose isn't exactly a bad thing :). I love the camera angle, the lighting, the dark background, and the shallow DOF.

So colourful! This would look great in a cook book, to tempt you to try out the recipe on the opposite page. As a work of art it isn't as interesting to me, but as an illustration it works well.

I really like this. It's so pop art, but with some kind of passive-agressive thing going on :). Brilliant colours. I can imagine this in a modern art gallery. 10 from me.

Cool! You did really well to set this up. The rotational symmetry of the piece is a little too static and formal for me, but I appreciate that technically it is a very good photo.

It's hard to enjoy a photo like this when you don't eat meat, but it's nicely composed and has an interesting, soft focus look to it. I like the different shapes of the plate and the meat tray. The chilli (pepper, whatever) is a nice touch. Overall, though, it's a little bit flat and washed out.

I think this is the best fruit photo in this challenge. The colours are lovely. The composition is a bit too busy though. Perhaps you went in just a teeny bit too tight.

Yet another water droplet photo..... It's a really good one though! I love the simplicity of it, and in this case central composition works. The plate and the table have a Japanese feel to me. I'll have to give it 10 for being so zen!

Earthquakes in Iceland

I can't quite tell what I'm looking at or how it is related to earthquakes. It's a really cool photo... it's just so foreign to me that I don't know how to interpret this! Is there a faultline here that the water is washing over?

I think the rocky part at the top of the photo is a bit distracting. It's hard to tell what it is and how it's related to the rest of the image.
