Nice photo. I like the lighting, the subtle tones of the sand and water, and the textures. The composition is really nice, the way the line of the number leads up to the arc of water.

This photo doesn't seem to work. I like the fact that it's pottery, and I can only imagine what shape the rest of the vessel is (I appreciate having to use my imagination), but the off centre composition doesn't seem to have any good reason other than that it's considered "wrong" to centre a photo, and the image overall lacks flair.

I could see why the stars were dark. To me, that didn't detract from the photo at all... the backlighting was the most appealing aspect of this photo to me. I also like it being backwards!

Congratulations on coming 3rd.

By the way... I thought I would let you know that after I left the comment about thinking I could render this in a 3D program, I decided to set that as a challenge to myself. I shouldn't say things like that and not be able to back them up (otherwise it's like that saying "your mouth is writing cheques your ass can't cash!"). So stay tuned, I'm going to try, and if I fail, I'll take the comment back! :)

That title is extreme! But the photo is very beautiful. It would definitely work as a stock photo. The colours are just gorgeous. Seems a little bit jaggy along some edges though. I'm giving it 10 nonetheless.

I think this focusses too much on a specific brand name. It couldn't be used for many stock photo applications. The composition is good and you obviously worked hard on the lighting. Nice DOF.
