Swingsby MeggieComment: This is a beautiful photo... the soft (morning?) light and the mist in the background give a mood of reminiscence and contemplation to these empty swings. The composition is powerful. |

Child's Playby quarxComment: Initially I didn't like this photo, but the more I look at it, the more it grabs me :). It's taken down at the level a child would see as he/she is playing with the toys, which makes everything come alive in an imaginitive way. But also, I love the composition, with those blue trees, and the dinosaur head coming in from the side. The narrow depth of field gives the image a sense of scale and leads your eyes even more to the dinosaur. Nice photo :) |

Yes, sir!by stephanComment: All the negative space and the high contrast work well to accentuate what a powerful symbol this belt is, and how much fear we can still associate with it as adults. This is a powerful photo. 10 - lisae |

Special Deliveryby milehighstarComment: I like the posterised look of this photo. This is very close to not meeting the challenge requirements, because the entire photo is filled up with a child... he/she just hasn't come out into the world yet :). I think it's a very nice idea, and I hope the delivery goes OK! |

Story Timeby aelithComment: This is a very enchanting photo. It definitely brings back my own memories of the magic of reading books at a young age. The composition could be tighter, maybe with a narrower depth of field to provide a sense of scale or depth as well, but the colours and lighting here are very well done. |

Dinosaur Parkby shedevilComment: I like the composition of this. I'm sure a lot of people will complain about the nose being cut off, but to me the focus of the photo is the space where a child would be, and if there was a child sitting there, it would be perfectly framed. Interesting technique, using negative space as a subject :) |

Painted Horses by jmsetzlerComment: This is STUNNING! I love the colours, the dazzling light, and the extreme sense of movment. The composition of this image around the horse, which is made in a pose with its head back and mane flowing, fully accentuates the excitement and movement in the background. I can relate to it very, very well because I was horse mad as a child and LOVED merry-go-rounds (or carousels, or whatever you want to call them) with a passion. This brings back really powerful memories. I have to give it 10, and it's going to go right in my favourites list when the challenge is over :) - lisae |

Need a hand?by KaveyComment: This is really cool. I like the overexposed look, because it's just like being dazzled by looking up towards the sun. It helps the sense of scale and perspective. The man's face is kind and friendly. Very evocative. (There's maybe a nasty undertone if you imagine he's a big bad stranger rather than a kindly father or relative, but I'm mostly ignoring that!) |

Let's get ready to Rumble!!!by YomiComment: I love the way you set these up, and the depth of field on this shot :). It captures the feelings children have about these types of toys, putting you right down at their level and feeling as though they could come alive and start to fight. Great work :) |
