Take-Off, Spot-Breasted Oriole by cloudsmeComment: So incredibly beautiful!! Well captured! Be a bit careful with the topaz sharpening and the neural blur -- it can begin to look a little too perfect and end up looking a tad fake. Sometimes before doing the topaz, etc., I'll merge it together, then do the adjustments, and then just reduce the opacity of those adjustments to let a little bit of grain, etc., in. Just a thought! But Huge, HUGE congrats on a well deserved blue!

Stillness by RanklesComment: Forgot to vote on this one. This is such a gorgeous scene, but I don't think the center placement does this one justice, imo. There's such gorgeous leading lines in the snow on the hill and it's reflection -- even though it's not really leading to anything in particular, it still really wants to help the eye roam around the scene. But with the subject centered, it's as if the eye just stops it's journey. Here's the subject, no need to explore further. I'm not explaining it well, but I was trying to dig deeper as to why this one didn't hit me right, and that's what I discovered. |

Doggy Treat by LydiaComment: Hmmm -- sorry... I've seen you do a lot better. The selection around your head is a little uncomfortable. And if you're cropping off just a little from the top, I'd consider cropping up from the bottom quite a bit. The whole lower half of the photo really isn't adding anything to it - rather detracting.
(sorry, feel like I'm being overly harsh, but thought I'd comment anyway. :/) |

Esmerelda by NikonJebComment: The composition is wonderful, but the photo itself suffers from the harsh lighting. The photo is probably a 5. With better lighting and maybe playing a tad more with the POV it could have been up to an 8 - because I do love your composition. -6- |

The role of the father’s are underrated by NeatComment: Originally posted by Venser: Title bothers me.
It's not correct English.
Did you mean "The role of fathers are underrated"?
As written, you need another word after "father's" because it's possessive. The father's what is underrated? |
Actually, if you want to be pedantic, I believe it should be "The role of fathers is underrated." of the fathers is a prepositional phrase. So the verb should agree with the singular "role" :)
But this was my highest score, because fathers and their roles are underrated as a society. Message edited by author 2022-12-21 16:35:51. |
