Tranquilityby prbettsComment: I like the light on the posts and the waterfall, but the dead branches in front of the waterfall and in the bottom right are distracting. |

Chickenpox melancholyby bucketComment: This is a good candid, but it doesn't convey a mood so much as a lack of emotion. Maybe it's just the angle of the catchlight, but it looks like your model's left eye is not focused in the same place as his right eye. The B&W and the light diffused give this image a nice professional feel |

Teenage Rebellionby aerogurlComment: Although teenagers can be moody, rebelliousness is a attitude or a behavior pattern. The border seems a bit too think, a large border does offset him from the surroundings, reinforcing the separation he seems to try to create between himself and the viewer.

Overwhelmedby BlinksComment: The pose does a good job of communicating the intended mood. However, the soft focus, blush pillows and the elegant plant make this feel somewhat relaxing. Things would seem more overwhelming if he were framed by stacks of textbooks or there were collection notices on a table in front of him. Using harsher light to illuminate your model would have also given this a more on-edge feel. Rendering his surroundings somewhat out of focus is good, but if things seemed to be more chaotic (perhaps by zooming while the shutter is open) this would feel more overwhelming and less like a struggle between a peaceful environment and a stressed out model. You did a very nice job with the light here, it just fights with the mood you're trying to convey.

happy at playby gtp1164Comment: Something about this shot makes it feel more like a snapshot than a candid.

YOU SUNK MY BATTLESHIP !!by DefyTimeComment: Nice bokeh. Even if I did have a strong mood associated with losing a came of Battleship, this is quite a stretch. If the subject matter were inherently more emotionally charged (e.g. a picture of a cemetery), then you might be able to get away with something this far removed from a direct depiction of a mood.

Morning Souvenir ...by LouiseBComment: The lipstick looks orange; I think that a rusty red lipstick would have better complemented the sepia-like tone of the rest of the image. The placement of the kiss is also somewhat hidden in shadow. It might have produced a stronger effect if it were on the cheek. |

Joyby nfesselComment: Nice DOF. The water droplets on the flower on the left are a nice touch. |
