Restoring one of my own....by AzrifelComment: The rich textures brought out by the sepia tones are my favorite part of the image. My least favorite aspect is the writing on the sail. I'm sure that it would have earned you more than a few complaints about the crop, but I would have preferred this image if it was cropped just a bit below the letters and included more horizon off to the sides. |

Wet Coloursby msdoubletroubleComment: It would be easier to appreciate this if the image was larger. I don't think that the portrait orientation works particularly well for this subject. |

Abstract Hot Mama!by GallatinComment: Your title seems to have a rather disconnected relationship with the accompanying picture. Is that the flower's natural coloration? I think that you should have gone for a more abstract macro shot of just the brightly colored portion contrasted against the surrounding white petals. |

Hero...or...Nightmareby vtruanComment: The odd colors and over-processed look detract from what might have otherwise been a good image. |

Journeyby fifieldComment: This image has a pinkish cast, which I find distracting. The DOF seems to restrict the focus to the first few feet of the image, leaving the rest of the image an odd, not-quite-in-focus feeling. If the focus were softer overall or the DOF were either much shallower or encompassed the entire image I'd have liked the presentation better. I think that rendering this in B&W would have emphasized the depth of the image, as the color seems to exist mainly in the periphery. |

Souls Aloftby justineComment: This looks like the type of snapshot one gets if one drops their camera on the ground and the shutter happens to fire. Without any particularly interesting cloud formation or a clear focal point, this just looks like a random section of clouds. The B&W emphasizes the texture of the clouds, but I think that in this case the (presumably) blue sky would have been more interesting than the shades of gray. |

Breathing Under Waterby pawdrixComment: The fact that the hand is held palm up makes this look more like this was posed against a spotted wall and less like the person is swimming for the surface (which would almost certainly involve the palms facing down). |

A Rock And A Hard Place Dreamby zagmanComment: I see two large, parallel rocks with ocean waves flowing between them. Without referring to the metaphor in the title, I'd have interpreted this an another "I wish I was on the beach" type picture. If your intent was to depict the metaphor, I think that I should see a boat or something being dashed against one of the rocks. |
