Your title seems to have a rather disconnected relationship with the accompanying picture. Is that the flower's natural coloration? I think that you should have gone for a more abstract macro shot of just the brightly colored portion contrasted against the surrounding white petals.

Lovely, soft light. I don't know which special effect you used to get the slightly mottled effect, but, I think it worked really well. A few jaggies around the edges, but, they don't detract much. In fact, that's probably nitpicky. 7

A nice flower shot. Needs a little more "pop" in the colours and the whites to make it stand out, and the background elements (another flower head?) are a bit distracting. A very tight macro of the coloured area would work *really* well with this flower I'm sure.

Focus is good, and composition isn't too bad though. Keep shooting beauts like these and have fun!

There is something on the white areas that look like filter that I don't appreciate much because Orchid "white" color is one of the most beautiful whites there is and this has rather strange grey dots in it...

I dont know what effects have been applied here, but I assume that a dreamy impression was the goal. I feel that the effect may need to be a little stronger, as, at a first glance, I thought this was just over sharpened.

Looks like some vicious over sharpening. Leads the eye well onto the subject but not terribly good light and tone. 5
