My familyby gudbjargarsonComment: This is way oversharpened. Aside from that, this is one of the better ones in the challenge. |

Nappingby sbeaumontComment: A sharper focus would have improved this image. So far this is one of my favorite images of the challenge. |

Family Plotby lineyComment: Nice use of DOF and selective desaturation to draw attention to the subject. |

Reunionby kongphooeyComment: More headroom for the statue in the foreground would have improved the composition. |

Just hangin' outby mandyturnerComment: The dead space in the foreground, the lack of headroom and the fact that the woman is bending over make it feel like the frame is falling. I think that at least cropping out some of the foreground would have improved the image. |

Women and Childby instepsComment: A deeper DOF would have helped this image. The image would feel more balanced if there was more room in the direction that the kid is looking. |

Shyby siggiComment: The focus seems sharpest on the strap for the S230. If your image wasn't being evaluated solely by people who will probably like to see a kid with a camera, I'd say that the photo would be stronger without it. Overall I like the shot, but I think that shooting it from a lower angle (looking up at the kid) and having a stronger catchlight would have improved the image. |

Seaside Nurseryby rox_roxComment: Technically, this is a fairly good shot. However, due to the rather unsavory subject matter I rather doubt that it's technical merits will rescue your score. Without the title I'd have had difficulty identifying the textured surface under the flys; an angle which included a fin or some other recognizable feature would have improved the composition (although it might have made the subject more unappealing). |
