Sheep Texturesby annigComment: Unfortunately the image appears to be slightly softer in focus which doesn't help impart a sense of "texture". It might have been better to concentrate on one animal and attempt to get as much detail out of the dirty wool as possible in particular along the neck line. A good concept however just lacking in execution. |

abusedby photokariangelComment: Subtle tonal imagery of old cracking paint covering figured wood - a great composition. The only minor issue is the lack of tone control and the image might have had more impact with a minor crop of 25% off the bottom to concentrate on the more interesting figured aspects of the door knob and immediate area. A good solid image evoking texture. |

Volby aznymComment: Very subtle lighting from the side creates a very antique looking grain effect - this works very well as the creases on the bindings show years of use. The viewer can extract the canvas book bindings without much effort imparting a sense of time and space. A excellant effort. |

13th Century Bronzeby Pug-HComment: Another example of how simple shapes and curves can evoke positive imagery. The subtle greens are well controlled which is difficult in any setting. Plenty of soft even lighting which only enhances the overall impact. There aren't any minor flaws. A ribbon contender for sure. |

Polishedby BugzeyeComment: The true measure of elegance is simple and refined - this image meets that criteria with an inventive use of color, shape and texture. The excellant DOF just flows with the overall concept of smooth. The only flaw is the white bloom while not overdone by any means, doesn't assist the image which is an unfortunate by product of the lighting. The little reflections towards the top of the stone are also just a touch annoying. Overall a good solid effort and worthy of consideration as a top ten image. |

Land patternsby gminkComment: Simply eye watering visual effect. It's very hard to concentrate on one particular aspect of the image without being forced to look away at another - very effective and interesting. One can create a very interesting visual by adjusting seating position and moving in and out from the monitor. For just simple visual impact and inventiveness, this is a good start - a top contender for a ribbon. |

Steely Handby ozeradComment: A perfect stock shot - whites right on the edge and the lighting assists the image instead of fighting it. Crisp and sharp the black and white conversion exactly matches the sense of strength and power. An excellant effort. |
