Unattachedby nozlComment: A beautiful impressionist image in which the soft focus effect and subtle tones work well with the detailed flower. The orange does well with the lighter background and is very effective. Over all a great contribution. |

Another Proteaby banmornComment: Green is the hardest digital color to control. With excellant tone control and beautiful detail, this should be a top contender for a ribbon. Little minor technical flaws do not detract from the image's overall impact and the impression of texture. Well done. |

Ahead of the Curveby tennernieComment: Perfect DOF control, good detail in the petals and an effective presentation overall. Falls just short of demonstrating the texture of the flowers, but the grainy texture and subtle lighting of the background make up for that. Nice concept and execution of an idea. |

Cool Eveningby KumaComment: Very dramatic tone and lighting which work well, but the subject could have been lightened just a little to bring out the subtle curves and texture. The background is complimentary to the subject which makes it even more important to bring out some of the detail. A good abstract concept just a little light on the execution. |

Her Big Dayby jfritz27Comment: Simple, elegant and richly detailed, this is a perfect capture. The soft subtle colors are perfectly controled and an obvious effort to keep an even texture throughout the image is evident. An excellant effort - well done. |

Eye see texture!by PiechProductionsComment: Very intriguing - a clever and unigue image. The major light bloom at the top of the eye has a significant impact on the image and not in a positive way - it would have had much more impact if the texture effect of the cornea had followed through to the top. As it is, it works well though and should be a top contender. |

Bombardedby jimnessComment: One of the better moon shots with excellant detail. As a challenge subject it works on a couple of levels, but falls just sort of having the sort of interest needed to be a really good contender for high placement. |

Feel Itby soupComment: It's very hard to explain how unique this image - how much impact a simple weathered hand can have against the inspired background. A couple of minor flaws in a technical sense, but from an emotional standpoint, this is incredible in it's impact on the viewer. An outstanding image evoking texture and humanity. Well done. |

Ruffledby SaraRComment: The author's intent is plain and interesting, but fails just short of being an effective way of envoking texture. A tighter shot sans the branch would have helped convey the sense of dimension that a texture shot should have. As a fauna image, it's excellant even with the branch in the way. |

Mysticalby DudskiComment: A very clever use of reflection - imaginative and effective. The blending of curves and internal detail give an impression of texture in a unique way. The slight offset work well, but it's cut off too soon on the right and bottom interrupting the flow of the curves. Not a major flaw, but it is distracting and negatively impacts the image's flow. A solid effort and worthy of placement in the top fifteen. |
