Weathered by SledZepplinComment: Not a lot of definition demonstrating texture - the image is too soft and unfocused. The nominal presentation and simple angle is effective, it's just that the subject is much to bland to be of any use. |

Liberty Science Centerby Nikolai1024Comment: The right on the edge of overdone sun is very distracting. It might have been a better choice to crop the image and just concentrate on the wind ripples across the water. If cropped, it would also be unique in that the rose tone compliments the yellow of the sun's reflections. |

Peanut Envyby cup4tmlComment: Very unique and effective presentation - the single salt grains and pleasing textures presented in neutral tones is unusual in that it carries through the entire image. Nicely done. |

Gnarly Cottonwoodby rajronComment: The soft focus isn't the best choice to bring out the detail nature of this tree. A little sharper with less grain would enhance this in a positive way. A good solid effort to demonstrate texture. |

The Wallby ElaineComment: A very good abstract demonstrating texture as per the challenge. Lots of detail with bits and pieces of variable texture. The blue appears to be a little over sharpened, but that is a positive as it imparts a sense of depth and dimension. A worthy challenge entry. |

Dragon faceby redpandaComment: This subject has been seen before and the different angle is very effective use of imagery in both instances. This should be a top ten image and if it didn't win a ribbon, it would be highly unfortunate. Excellant tone control and inventive use of subtle color. Righ in detail, an excellant capture. |

After the Rainby pejyorkComment: An excellant capture with variable shapes, colors and textures which is very pleasing to the eye. The contrasting background compliments the rich purple and delicate nature of the petals. A very good entry into the challenge - not perfect by any means, but purposeful and properly composed. Well done. |

woodby roksibancComment: A nice effort demonstrating texture in the natural world. Interesting blend of color. It might have worked better a little closer concentrating on the log eliminating the grass in the foreground, but it works as it is. A good effort. |

Nature's Endless Texture Palette: Smooth to Roughby THEOLDGEEZERComment: The sharp transition from soft focus to sharp focus is interesting in and of itself, but in this scene it doens't work quite as well as it would in other scenes. It would have been better to concentrate on the bark molds and flora rather than the foreground which in this case, distracts from the really interesting blend of textures in the background. |

Little Pieces of Textureby santiago9erComment: The evenly top-to-bottom split DOF hurts this effort. The concept is great and it just misses to really impact the viewer as it should. If it had, all the little fine details would have made it a certain top ten contender. |
