this pops off my monitor, very nicely done. maybe it's the contrast? it's great, whatever it is.

Seriously over sharpened, or over-something, I'm afraid. It just doesn't look right somehow.

A little overexposed but definitely says texture.

The soft focus isn't the best choice to bring out the detail nature of this tree. A little sharper with less grain would enhance this in a positive way. A good solid effort to demonstrate texture.

are you shooting in JPG or RAW? That would make a difference (RAW) as you could push your "blacks" up a bit and drop your exposure a little...you have lost some of your "texture" by being overexposed just a tad
