Hummingbird Portraitby TomH1000Comment by sacredspirit: Quite a fantastic camera you must have, however its a portrait contest, and im one of those buttholes that thought it should include a human subject. |

Humming Birdby TomH1000Comment by digitalknight: I disagree with the focus issue. The human eye is drawn first to movement, then to contrast then picks up the rest of the details. I read it on the internet - it has to be true.
So I think most of the population's eyes will be drawn to your subject first, then pick up the rest of the detail.
I think the focused leaves are a nice treat for the eye. Imagine it with all blur and just the bird - boring. They are a great detail for your eye to "run into" after looking at the subject. You did good. |

Humming Birdby TomH1000Comment by SJCarter: Love the dreamy effect you've got going on here. Nice DOF. I agree that the foremost leaves are a slight distraction, but only for a sec. The bird is great. |

Streamby TomH1000Comment by SJCarter: I agree that the lighting is a bit harsh - I've found that the best time to shoot streams (at least for me) is the late afternoon. The reflection in the pool is terrific though. I like this shot a lot. |
