Building the Webby kaiser_chiefComment by Blackbox: What an interesting building! I'm seeing some slight haloing around the crane and some noise in the sky. But, it's an awesome find for this challenge. |

Remembering the Fallenby kaiser_chiefComment by brianlh: Howdy from the Critique Club!
My first impression was along the line's of mikasi's comment.. the lines do seem slightly soft. You mention that you sharpened, but I might consider pushing it just a little more. Other than that, I definitely like the fact that you waited until the golden light was illuminating the building and the flag was being lowered.
I think to strengthen the photo as is, I would consider cropping it in a little further on the left, so that the flag poles frame the last side of the image. Other than that, the only other thing that immediately comes to mind is that the colors could potentially be pushed a bit further. I sense that maybe you're trying to avoid unnatural looking colors and sharpness, but I think you still have some leeway in that department.
Hope this helped,
Brian |

Melbourne's Spireby kaiser_chiefComment by jomari: Nice shot against the blue sky. This is a well recognised landmark as we come to Melbourne over the Westgate, and come to this not long after - it means we are here yet. |

Royal Exhibition Buildingby kaiser_chiefComment by Germaine: Hmmmm. The building is a little tilted to the right, but it would only matter to folks who have been around DPC too long! 8)
Nice shot of a beautiful building with lots of lovely detail. Maybe make things a little brighter, but that's just me. |

Royal Exhibition Buildingby kaiser_chiefComment by vlado: I see it too Roz. Reckon it's an optical illusion caused by the difference in gaps between the trees and the roof line. The shot seems a bit too tourist snap like. "Oh, a beautiful building " as you were walking down the street. Getting closer, not having it centers etc would have helped this shot a bit. Processing wise... colours look good. That's about it... would be interested to HDR this to see if you could get more out of the sky. |
