The green stalk coming from the bottom left is a little bothersome as is the harsh light on the flower petals. Very sharp and focused this one.

There is nothing different in this from many other flower shots to make me believe it is "After Dark". The light on it is too harse while the green stem on the left is distracting.

The willy-nilly posiiton of the petals really captures interesting light here. Too bad the Dec. rules are gone. YOu could have cloned out that leave at bottom right. Lovely use of directional light and color.

I love flowers on black backgrounds. Some people hate it, but not me. You have some excellent color, and wonderful texture here. The only spot I'm finding a bit distracting is the petal that is fight above the green leaf inthe bottom left corner. It seems to be blurry, where the rest of the shot is nice and crisp focus. Not sure if that was your DOF, but I think it would have enhanced the shot just a bit to have that petal in focus as well. Otherwise, very nice lighting, and great close up. Beautiful flower. ~Heather~
