P1000338by spiritualspatulaComment by MacDonald: This one is Coprinus comatus - common name shaggy mane. Totally edible and delicious rolled in egg and fried in a pan .. but you have to eat it the day you pick it or it will turn into an inky mess by the next day. |

Copy of P1000541by spiritualspatulaComment by FocusPoint: An excellent shot IMO. Contrast in this photo is very nice, it feels like there is a post process, probably contrast. Coming out of a camera, excellent settings :) |

Copy of P1000541by spiritualspatulaComment by spiritualspatula: It's funny you should mention cleaning...
I work the nightshift, so I get to see such things happen.
There's a vehicle that looks sorta like a spider crossed with an extendable boom vehicle that comes in the front door and deploys its legs across the lobby, which then extends up to the top. Takes an entire night to clean the windows. If you're curious, this is actually a hospital, though I know you probably would've never guessed. Those windows you see on the side of the lobby walls are patient rooms, and the glass in the very top of the shot is in an outdoors atrium thing that you can look back down through into the bottom of the hospital. Pretty cool design.
From what I had heard, those tracks in the ceiling were originally designed to accept some sort of cables for a hanging window cleaning setup, but there were problems of some sort so they use the spider thing now. It just BARELY fits in the front door (maybe 2 inches extra on the top). |
