I'll be curmudgeonly with Don and suggest you fix the white balance a little - or convert to B&W. Otherwise I also agree that the defocus thing works very well - the softness is quite pleasing and it gives wonderful depth to those eyes!

A nice pair of photos. I like the warm goldenness. Leo's expression here is lovely.

i get that look sometimes and not always from the dog ... !!!
i dont mind the yellow look, its all very personal that sort'v thing .. i reckon it gives the image a very warm and comforting home feel .. like nearly in front of the fire .. :)

Is it curmudgeonly of me to suggest you fix the white balance? Lovely shot otherwise.

When I used to take my kids to a place like this I found it a little unsettling. Seems so easy to fall or get hurt. Of course I lost my front teeth one kind of like this 40 years ago. This captures that for me.

It looks painted - how did you get this, in-camera or using a post-processing filter of some sort? I don't intend any disparagement by my question, I'm just truly curious that if you got this in-camera, what you did to achieve it. I'm always looking for new ways to abuse my camera. :)

Looks like the sheep should be let out to munch on all that overgrowth. :)

Very cool blur catch, and for the record I also had that "triptych" impression.

Comment by Melethia:
You've definitely got a natural triptych going here - very cool! And the colors work very well - wouldn't be quite the same in B&W at all. Try this some more! You don't always get keepers, but you do get things worth taking a second look at. And sometimes you DO get real gems!
