See??? This one really pops and is so striking because your sharp branches in the foreground are clearly the subject of the photo. There's not too many distracting things grabbing for your eyes to rest on. This is so pretty. I love those dark rich tones and colors. And I think that pretty little bokeh light finishes it off :)

Sofia, I see a very distinct style devloping with your work. It's a style I'm drawn to lately and is very popular and beautiful. It uses dark tones to create an amazing richness. I am really looking forward to seeing more.

The only thing about this one - and this is something my first photography instructor mentored me about -- is that there seems to be that there is no real, dominant subject. I think for a photo to jump out and grab its viewers, there should be something very distinct that the rest of the photo is built around. This one uses really pretty soft blur with parts of several stems peaking out of them sharp and appealing, but I wonder if you had only had one branch in the photo and specifically focused on just that one branch -- and had the rest of the photo in that soft dreamy blur if it would have really popped.

I'm going to go look at your other two because I think you totally fixed that issue in those pictures. I'm excited for you, Sofia because I think you have alot of talent and I am really looking forward to watching you grow here :) I think you certainly should be shooting circles around your high school peers :)

IMO the image lacks interest & the foreground blur has overpowered the image.

Since use used the 50mm , then I would suggest you try to stop down the aperture to 11 at least to get mor DOF.
Also try a different angle (lower) to get a different perspective
Composition wise , you may find it interesting to put the shell in the lower left corner. Try it to see if you like it !!

talk about a talent .. 14 you say ?? .. then the photographic world is your oyster !!
this is another excellent image .. those branches create a wonderful curvy foreground with very pleasing designs .. and i like how the house in the background isnt immediately obvious .. thats another thing i really like .. when things arent immediately obvious .. that light at first reminded me of a full moon .. :)

ps .. some of those shapes are just bordering on imaginary creatures ... suggested shapes are also one of my favourite things .. something that the person looking at it can make up their own mind about .. excellent ..:)

This one doesn't do too much for me. I like the idea of having a distinct foreground, midground and background. The midground and background look good, but the foreground is too prominent. Try usin the foreground elements to frame the shot. They should not over power it.

Go ahead and stop your lens down a little to broaden your Depth of Field. It looks like the background foliage is a good distance back, you could shoot at maybe f/5.6 of something and get all of the vines in focus and still have good bokeh in the background.
