nice work with the perspective. to bring that about and keep the image in proportion is great.

hi again bill ..
after making those suggestions i thought i'd try it out because until you've actually tried something on a particular photograph its often difficult to imagine how it will turn out ..
i duplicated your background layer ..
i then did a guassian blur on the new duplicated layer and a multiply blending mode ..
i did an adjustment layer in levels to lighten it up a bit ..
i created a mask on the new layer and erased so that i could show the detail on her hair from the background layer ..
it might be too soft and unnatural for you, but i thought i'd give it a shot .. !!
i hope you dont mind .. ??
bill's photograph with some gaussian blur etc ..

i probably wouldnt have done the guassian blur route myself .. but i suggested it not knowing the software you use .. i'd be doing a nik efex on her for sure ..
color efex pro 3.0
you can get the 15 day free trial .. but be careful .. you may get addicted .. !!

i really prefer your original process .. i'm not that keen on the areas you've lightened .. it really is an excellent portrait, very involving the way she's looking right at me .. i love her hair, the softness and her lovely eyes .. its very natural and it'll be great to have her as your model again ..
there are things you can do to give that beautiful soft look if you like that sort'v thing ..
have you tried duplicating your layer, giving it a bit of gaussian blur and then making it multiply blending mode .. ?? .. it also makes the image a lot darker, so then you could try a levels adjustment layer to lighten it up a bit .. you often lose some of that blur when lightening tho ..
i'm sure there'll be ppl who love your new process or have other suggestions for editing tho .. :)

You're right about the background, yet IMO it's just the one large crease that draws attention from the statue. I like the lighting and the reflector adds just the right amount of light.

This is a really good edit. You did an excellent job of opening the eyes of the man in the middle. If I had one nitpick, it would be the lighting and colours; but I am sure you already knew that ;)

Those are very rich colors, I like that background color (blue/gray?). Would like to see sharper focus on the front flower so the viewer can really see the texture.

I prefer this one. I love everything about it but the right hand side foot. It needs a bit of history brushing with a really soft edge to help it look like it wasn't cut out of another photo and pasted in :) I do really like the new BG. I can't quit looking at it.

Not quite sure I followed your pp, but it's late and I'm tired, so no worries. She is a bit unnaturally symmetrical! I like the colors and the blue eye(s) really dominate.
