whatever the yellow is, it really entrances you to look further into the picture then most do. I really like the depth of field too. All around great image

Wow! Are those yellow wildlfowers covering that field in the background. This is such an appealing photo. I love fences, and the way you have made this one so strong with a deep depth of field is beautiful. Very striking.

Neato-o! the fence is magnificent & the colors make this shot great. The sun on the distant meadow looks very inviting!

Fun, vibrant shot! I think I've done straws a few times, but never liked how they came out. Nicely done!

A clever idea. I can't help but wonder how this would have looked lit from behind or in some other manner using the translucency of the straws.

Technically, I think this is good, although for most, I think it lacks the "wow" factor. The interest is more subtle, and has to do with what's actually going on in the game. I suspect most voters looked at it, said, "Oh, how interesting, a poker game," voted, and moved on. Maybe a hand holding some of the cards or something even more dramatic (an ashtray?, a spilled drink?) would have held voters for a longer visit. I gave this a five.

I do like the lighting. Taken out of context, it might be considered harsh, but here it gives it the feel of a card game in a dark room or someone's basement with a single overhead light.

I gave this a 7, so I might not be the best one to critique it. It is very clear and fit the challenge well, the lighting is dramatic. It does seem to have a bit of a tilt to it, I realize that's the angle you shot it from but it looks like the chips will go falling to the left any minute.
