Brick and Rosesby banmornComment by visitor: Interesting mixture ~ soft and hard textures.
The picture overall looks like it could do with a little sharpening and possibly greater DOF to get full front to back in focus. |

Riversideby banmornComment by admart01: strong diagonal and repetition make this a good composition - to make it even better I'd like to see a subject to add scale and perhaps a focal element (even color as the brown.green doens' grab me) |

Riversideby banmornComment by autool: Your diagonal isn't working for you here. It leads me into and then right out of the picture. I think a lower perspective would help keep the viewer in the picture. 5 |

Riversideby banmornComment by inspzil: Need a focal point to this one. This looks like a reasonable backdrop with no subject. |

Brick and Rosesby banmornComment by e301: Nice thinking, nice idea for a contrast of textures. compositionally, I don't think this works - the relative angles of the two subjects is unharmonious, and the exclusion of so much of the rose (and perhaps also of the brick, though less so) seems restrictive. Your lighting hasn't allowed very much of the textures to come though however - it seems too general, not allowing those little graduations of surfaces to show. |
