W E L Dby XMountaineerComment by AP: You can really feel the heat here, and the frozen sparks have so much visual interest. Congrats on 5th place and your personal best, this is such a solid shot. |

The Hitchhikerby XMountaineerComment by tootsweet: I feel like something is missing. Like a great book missing the last chapter. I look at this and catch the hint at humor, but can't find the punchline.
I think I just figured it out...it needs a sign on it saying "Hollywood or Bust," or something to that end.
Nice set-up though and the colors are great...way to avoid the over-processing trap. |

The Hay Fieldby XMountaineerComment by Schmeldontino: there definitely are some nice leading lines here...i also like that while the other fields are crowded with hay bales, this one is all alone! great detail in the foreground and background |

W E L Dby XMountaineerComment by Imagineer: Nice action - could do with being straightened.
I like the little tendrils of light after the sparks. It would perhaps be more involving if we were closer to the thing being welded so that we could identify it, as much of the lower portion of your frame is irrelevant. A rectangular crop mid way through the shot would make it stronger in my view. |

The Hay Fieldby XMountaineerComment by yanko: I get the sense of weight and gravity when I look at this. The lines in the photograph appear to be effected (pulled towards and inward) near the point of the hay cloest to the camera. This composition is what makes the photo, IMO. The black and white conversion is good. You mentioned the sky and I agree it's wonderful. Very good shot. |
