this was taken during a sunrise over a farm near my house. though, black and white landscapes are not my favorite, I like this version much better than the color version...the sky is really dramatic in this one and I think it really draws attention. Directly above the tress in the middle is actually the sun hidden behind some clouds...turning it black and white hides this and I love the way this looks. I thought the battle of the Ages and Olympics were going to start with this weeks challenge, so I went out of my way and spent much more time on my image than I normally would to attempt to help out my team. The larger version is SOOOOO much better than this smaller one, as you can see so much more detail.

there definitely are some nice leading lines here...i also like that while the other fields are crowded with hay bales, this one is all alone! great detail in the foreground and background

I get the sense of weight and gravity when I look at this. The lines in the photograph appear to be effected (pulled towards and inward) near the point of the hay cloest to the camera. This composition is what makes the photo, IMO. The black and white conversion is good. You mentioned the sky and I agree it's wonderful. Very good shot.

i really like this photo, the sky is amazing, really striking. changing an original color photo into black/white really opens tons of new doors for your imagination. tones are all there, mid, higher and lower, all in nice detail. actually im kinda suprised this didnt fair better, its a great photo, keep it up!

the sky, the hay rolls, the barn in the background - very good overall - and the choice of b/w with reasonably high contrast really provides this one some punch
