Macro Day 12by socalsteveComment by ZeppKash: Hmmm... its very dark. I think I'd like to see it cropped to only the green leafy (it is a plant, right?) top. seems like this has some potential as it looks very fuzzy. Have you got a longer macro lens, or reversing ring to get in tighter? |

Macro Day 11by socalsteveComment by socalsteve: I shot it with a reversed 50mm - the DOF is crazy-shallow, and I already likely stopped it down to try and get more DOF (hence the darkness). I could try and lighten it up in PP but the DOF isn't going to get fixed. Any suggestions (other than buying a 105mm macro lens)? |

Macro Day 11by socalsteveComment by scwalsh: The dof looks a little to shallow to me I find it very hard to pick anything out in the photo. I think with a little more dof this shot would really POP!

Macro Day 10by socalsteveComment by socalsteve: Ok - the answer: it's a peeled Easter egg (pink-color of course) which "cracked" and I did a little PP on it to enhance the yoke peeking through and create the effect. |
