The dark right side was done on purpose (although it tends to look darker the more I look at it) for a more "dramatic" shot.

The object of the photo is a little 3" x 2" or so block of paper-covered something with this pot and tree thing on it - it's totally artificial and pretty much just a little decorative piece.

Strangely weird, but I kind of like it. Looks like a still life.

Very nice lighting. I think if you crop off the negative space to the left side, the top and bottom you would get more impact by leaving just the negative space to the right. Love the detail.

The directional lighting is a great idea here but a touch bright on the bottom. I love all the textures and fuzzy parts. I think you captured some drama here. Very theatrical in the lighting. Someone could be lurking in the shadows.

Excellent lighting! It really helps make the detail on your subject pop. Love the colors, too. Well done.

I like this kind of "darkness" in photos, and shoot a lot in this style myself. That's an interesting subject.

I love the side lighting. The darkness fits well here. It sets a mood. Very nice details / focus.

Wished you added some comment. Think it's a wonderful photo and (reading the comments) I assume it's a kind of plant in combination with paper, but what's the bottom part? Overall, well done, you raise a some questions! Personally not too happy with the dark and dusty right side.

I have nothing to say about this except that it's well done. What is it though? Did you mount it up like that or does this whole ornament come like that?

Very artsy macro.

The side lighting creates a really interesting negative space border. If it was possible to diffuse the light on the leading left edge to keep it from blowing out I think it would be all the more captivating. Hard to do I know. This is a really cool image regardless.

Sorry, i don't mean the picture looks fuzzy, i meant the texture of the plant looks fuzzy. :)

I really like the composition of this image. True, it's a bit dark, but that sets the stage for what's going on to the left side of the photograph. This almost looks like a mixed media image. Very interesting and well presented IMHO.

This looks very sharp to me. The white background is a soft-ish paper. It was taken with a flash pointing from the left to give side-lighting.
