Nice, pleasing composition and chosen subjects.

The thing not working for me is the scrapped wooden background! I think it's distracting and considering the apple has such nice/similarish texture, it ends up clashing with each other. A more contrasting background would've made this a 9 from me.

An interesting image that does not meet the challenge.

Oh Lydia, what a shame after all that hard work but whilst I like your thinking I think it fails to meet the challenge in the strictest sense of the challenge brief. A look at the winning entries hopefully helps clarify what I mean better than my clumsy description but I think this more closely resembles your tractor 'superimposed' upon the background rather than juxtaposed, ie., side by side or close by. I think you were right to include your hand to make it obvious that a cut and paste was not involved and that this was a 'live' manipulation. Sorry it didn't quite work as you hoped, better luck next time...
