I agree that the color balance is off, so I will just comment on other aspects of your photo. I really like the composition here, the POV is great. Also your DOF accentuates the beef.

I think your getting a lot of your color cast from the granite. Paired with some incandescent light source. The white dish isn't true white. In photoshop, go to levels and use the eye droppers to select a true white spot. It should really even out the tones. You can also go into the hue/saturation slider and choose the red channel. you can slowly desaturate just that hue to tone it down.

No matter how hard I try, I have not yet gotten a decent batter bowl shot! Once you master white balance you will be doing great.
I shoot raw so I don't have to mess with wb all that much. Though the more you understand it, the better you will be.

Great WB on this shot. The colors are all right here.
The one thing I would have probably done to focus more on the ingredients is to crop down the top to remove the clutter on the back counter. If you give it a try, you will see that it keeps the viewers eyes on the subject and not wandering around the room.

Everyones favorite cookie. The white balance can be corrected with levels, just us the little eyedroppers and click on black and white, the WB will be corrected for you automatically. If you need clearer directions, shoot me a PM.
