It seems over processed, but the effect is still pleasing. I like the way the shape of the fossil is repeated in the knots on the log. I wonder if you could reduce the noise without compromising the detail in the subject.

I like the textures and colors in this image. Clever of you to look for something tiny when there seems to be nothing available.

ETA: Whatever that is in the upper half of the image, distracts me from what I consider the beauty of the lower half. I began to wonder how this would look if you rotated it so that the rock was diagonal. Either that or crop off the top half making a mini-panorama -- a snail sized panorama. :)

The shot works nicely without the crop. It shows the beast in it's environment, and the DOF and color contrast does the attention focusing . Too bad he was directly head on to the camera. I would like to see a quarter or side view of the little guy.

OK, you don't have to crop it ;-) Cute little bug. I have no idea what it is but it's a pretty color alright, and it stands out just fine without cropping.

I like it! Almost otherworldly feel with the water so smooth and the little bumps where its feet are touching and disturbing the surface tension. Always find these little guys amazing when I stop to think about them walking on water!

I'd go so far as to clone out the two red flares. I thought about whether it would have more impact with the dark corner cloned out but I think I like the idea that he's kind of teetering on the edge of something dark and unknown.
