Hole Noteby JMartComment by Arcanist: While not a ribbon winner vs the Escher, a great contender in a music challenge. Would like to see greater contrast in the whites in this one, but regardless of my choices, this is a very powerful image! |

Escher Column 2by JMartComment by Arcanist: Second day and I still can't stop looking at this image! The colors blow me away and the drop is just the icing on the cake. |

Escher Columnby JMartComment by boyd2000: I love these water drop over background shots. I'd love to try them, but I don't have any partial flash equipment other than the on-camera one. A drop sensor trigger is really helpful here also. I love both shots. Maybe something in between the two would be best. I'm seeing a lot of good challenge contenders in this side challenge. |

Escher Columnby JMartComment by JMart: Originally posted by desertoddity: that is really cool. i liked the ones with the musical notes, but this one is even better. you did a really great job and you pick interesting backgrounds. i'm amazed by the backgrounds. i don't see how you do that without getting the backgrounds wet and messed up. |
The water is in a shallow glass plate that is on top of the backgrounds (being very careful not to spill on my Escher book or music). Also, I had to put a dark cloth behind the plate to remove unwanted reflections. |

Escher Column 2by JMartComment by ShutterPug: I'm not sure which I prefer - both are pleasing to the eye. In this one the drop is closer - the other has more interesting background. Well done on both versions |

Escher Column 2by JMartComment by Breeee123: Wow, wow, wow! One of the best water drops I've seen! I absolutely love the crispness and color, and you caught a great shape in the splash. My only one slight critique would be to suggest cloning out the white flecks in the bottom and left hand side, as they're slightly distracting, but nevertheless it's an AMAZING shot! |
