Very nice colours used in this image, very bright and warm. The candle flame looks good and the stones give the image another thing to draw the eye in. Seems to slant slightly, maybe straightening the image up would have hepled it a lot more. Apart from that a lovely image.

Nice starburst effect on the flame. The shadow is a bit distracting, and I don't understand the significance of the stones in the cupcake wrappers. Why not use a real cupcake?

Congrats on breaking through the 5. The title is my favorite part. I was not sure at first what the image was, but after thinking about I really do like the image. I am wondering if many voters did not understand what the image was of. This was really a great idea. I would be curious to see it in color. What seems a little odd, is in the photo how the bottom bubble blower is almost shaped out of the pile of bubbles. I think this image was a very good try at the bubble contest and probably misunderstood. I really like how gel like the bubbles in the pile appear. There is not much I could say to improve the photo but to try and draw the voter in a little more. Maybe by having a bubble (a little bigger and more recognizable) coming out of one of the wands, but maybe that is not what you were going for.

Neat glow around the flame and reflections on the stone. The red reminds me more of Christmas than birthday, but I couldn't tell you which color would do better.

I like the glass gems in the cupcake paper. Different and adds great sparkle to the shot. I would straighten it though, it's leaning slightly to the left - just make it parallel with the bottom line of the photo. The green and red are great contrasts as they are opposites on the color wheel. I like the shadow of the scalloped edge in the foreground.
