on the other hand, it is a good strategy, get your image in there early, & get a spot closer to the front, so people aren't tired of looking & scoring by the time they get to yours!!

the bloom looks a bit washed out here, and the bg boke (lovely by the way) doesn't work very hard to compete with my eye for attention...some sharpening & crop to feature the top of the bloom (to just below the 2nd or 3rd yellow "leaf" on the stalk) may add pizazz!

Thanks Bear...It's sharpened some but I couldn't seem to get it any better. My dentist is giving me Photoshop Elements since he doesn't like it. Hopefully I will be able to do more with my images.

Thanks for the border comment...I am learning that less is more! Wish I would have submitted sans border or with a tiny white border. Changed my July free study entry from a border like this to a small white border.
