Alone In A Crowdby bvyComment by citymars: Poor guy can't even pick his nose without it ending up on the internet. LOL
Great texture in his face, hands, and denim jeans. I like the well-manicured hand holding the purse, too. Something about the woman's presence adds to the "story" of this image. |

Psych Wardby bvyComment by bassbone: the facial expression - the fact that this smile of the woman and the man in the ad are almost the same - it works
not crazy about this type of processing but it does give an extra edge to the shots |

Psych Wardby bvyComment by Melethia: Her smile definitely makes me smile. You can still shoot from the hip with a dSLR - it just takes a bit more practice. I'll start giving it a shot and pass along any helpful advice I may discover. Or when you get yours, you can do the same! |

Alone In A Crowdby bvyComment by Melethia: LOL! Just read Timmy's comment about disuading her from getting a dSLR... :-) So what did you order??
My favorite part of this shot is the woman's hand on her purse. Somehow that adds another little story to this. I really do like your from the hip shooting. You get some interesting captures! |

Bag Ladiesby bvyComment by Melethia: Shooting from the hip often yeilds some very run results, like this one. I like the expressions you caught - and that's half the fun of street shooting! |

Psych Wardby bvyComment by shalrath: Along with the funky colours and the psych ward shirt, that smile just tops it off. Looks like a real character you've captured here. |

Bag Ladiesby bvyComment by ericwoo: Very cool. I really like the shoot-from-the-hip shots that come out well like this one did. Added to the interest of the angle are the great expressions you have captured. You can feel emotion and business in this one. I also like the cross-processing PP. That is one of my favorite treatments. |

Alone In A Crowdby bvyComment by bvy: Originally posted by crik: What mm shooting range do you use most when doing the hip shot? |
Not many options there, Crik, since I use a point and shoot. I never zoom when shooting from the hip (I'd certainly miss!). But a lens camera is coming soon to a mailbox near me. |

Alone In A Crowdby bvyComment by bassbone: my dad shot 'from the hip for years'- it sure can work to get shots when no one thinks you are shooting
the conversion to b/w is outstanding providing wonderful textures throughout the image to jump out at us |
