Alone with Beerby heavyjComment by brumer0: Very nice photo. It REALLY drew me in. The only thing that I would recommend would be to crop more of the right side so his face is more in the 1/3 instead of his ear. I think that in this photo a 3:4 ratio might be better than a 4:5 because I find that there is a lot of uninteresting stuff on the right side. |

Forest Churchby heavyjComment by brumer0: I had no idea that there were so many of this kind of churches in Japan. I lived in Okinawa for a few years and either I missed all of these completely, or they have different churches. Wish I wouldve known so I could have had the opportunity to take these kinds of photos when I lived in that part of the world.
(very nice photo). Oh, I think it is tilted a bit to the left. |

Scary Yet Candidby heavyjComment by aplomb76: I know the last thing I want after eating some delicious okonomiyaki is to have someone taking a photo of me. Your subject is fantastically captured. If there is anyway to crop him without the food (cropping), I think the photo would be much stronger overall. He almost looks like the okonomiyaki Grinch. 7 |

Scary Yet Candidby heavyjComment by bvy: Oh, he's not too scary. Intersting moment. Maybe too much sign on the left (or not enough, depending on what it says). |

Scary Yet Candidby heavyjComment by Daybis: Photo feels a little dark, but the man has a lot of great texture in his face and the photo feels like there is a story behind the mans face. |

Scary Yet Candidby heavyjComment by K3Master: He'd snapped the photo before he even realized his subject had noticed him. When he got it home, and saw that the man had been staring at him, he got an uneasy feeling. Suddenly, small nagging memories hit him. The way the man had suddenly glowered, the way his head nodded almost imperceptibly. It had occurred on a subconscious level for the photographer, something he hadn't been aware of but could recall in stark clarity now that he gazed at the photo on his screen.
He'd liked the look of the old man, sauntering along the street. Now, he seemed to be scowling in perpetuity. A look of knowing in his eyes, almost haunting.
A few weeks later, when the pains began, and the boils erupted on his skin, he would forget about this particular subject in a forgotten photo, and never made the connection, even to his agonizing death a short time later. |

Scary Yet Candidby heavyjComment by Lydia: I might have cropped a bit off the left to have the face not have to compete so much with the sign... but I like how sharp and interesting the face is.. teh light makes it even more so in the contours. (not voting yet) |
