B&W - Day 3by mkComment by colorcarnival: I'm not a big fan of things soft and OOF because I think these old eyes need to see sharp things in pics. Are these Canadian geese? I would love to have seen them a little clearer and the rest of the pic in blur. I am not sure if I have my story right but I thought that these geese always travel in pairs - don't they mate for life? The fact that you have two in this pic kind of supports that story (for me anyway lol). |

B&W - Day 5by mkComment by violinist123: Very nice tones, perfectly focused shot. I think playing with the composition could make this shot even nicer. |

B&W - Day 5by mkComment by Artyste: Just an unbelievably good conversion choice here. It gives an impression of this beautiful source of cleanliness and nature, floating in a sea of oil and industry.

B&W - Day 5by mkComment by ursula: I like the shine of the leaf and droplets, and also of the water where it isn't indented. I agree with Karen, I'm not very fond of the centred composition(s). |

IMG_4009.jpgby mkComment by mk: Originally posted by undieyatch: I would describe the selective editing (?) in this petal series as solarization. I also enjoy this one, with the least amount evident. A good series, good work. |
If I understand solarisation correctly (essentially an inversion of the lights & darks?) then no, not the case. These are white petals in puddles of water on the brown deck which just lost detail in the b&w conversion. No selective editing. :) |

B&W - Day 5by mkComment by KarenNfld: Love the darkness of the water and the detail in the petal and the water drops. Not so fond of the centered composition. Lotsof nice outtakes as well. |
