A Set of Spoonsby MelonMusketeerComment by GregoryB: Pretty good Waddy - you must have been a fair distance away not to spook them...detail is ok at f4.5 - I can't pick where that fence is. |

Swamp Cabbageby MelonMusketeerComment by Germaine: So that's what it looks like in the wild!
When I lived in Brazil they used to sell "palmito" in the open market. It comes in "slices" about 10 inches wide and six inches thick. You take it home and boil it and boil it and boil it until it is "tender". Even so, there are still a lot of outer layers that have to be peeled off. When you are through, you have a cylinder about 2.5 inches thick and six inches long which is then cut into smaller segments and served with an oil and vinegar dressing. It's good, but not that much better than the palmito that comes in a can. It's one of those things that makes you wonder how anyone figured out that this was edible.
I really like the colors in your picture. That sky looks very tropical. |

Dive Inby MelonMusketeerComment by GregoryB: Not a bad effort Waddy - they're quick little buggers and don't stay still for very long - I like the composition of this with the diagonal stem, thflowers and buds. There seems to be a bit of noise in the background. Have you processed this much or is the noise brought about by a wide open aperture? |
