"Marlin's Garden"by MelonMusketeerComment by jhatch2178: Words like enchanting, beautiful, inviting, lovely, and "a bit off center" have been used below to describe this photo. All of these words can be used also to describe the man buried right underneath that stone bench in the middle of the frame, my grandfather. Great job on capturing this photo and matching the photo to the man who made this beautiful place his home.
Bruce_the_Robert - you've got it! Like I stated above, this photo is perfect....you may have missed that its a grave site, now maybe you will understand how truly perfect this photo is. Like all great art, the picture should capture the subject...and the subject in this case, is the man buried in the middle of the garden. Message edited by author 2009-04-15 09:18:16. |

Roberts Ketch Rig.JPGby MelonMusketeerComment by CEJ: I like the serenity and composition of the shot. I feel it could use a bit of sharpening though. I did download your version and applied a simple sharpening pass to it and it stands out so much clearer. With a bit more work this could be an outstanding photo. The right amount of complication balanced with the right amount of simplicity. Love the beer bottle on the post. Not sure about the sneakers though. Either all the way in or out of the shot. A toss up. Message edited by author 2009-04-14 21:04:00. |

Montana Barn 1by MelonMusketeerComment by sfalice: LOL, yes I see your interest in this one. I'd try to get it too, even at speed. Fun architecture.
the red certainly does take over in the frame. I can see another crop that might also make sense - especially the one that occurs by putting the barn in the lower right sweet spot and cropping out some of the sky.
This advice and a 5¢ piece won't get you a cup of coffee. I'm just playin'.
