A "Florida Cracker" Houseby MelonMusketeerComment by Jutilda: I knew this was either Florida or Louisiana. Drove through swamps taking the gulf route to get from Austin, through Houston, and then New Orleans, on our way to Daytona one summer. That moss was surely creepy at night but since the a/c went out, it was the only way we could stand to drive, as I had a black vinyl top and seats. I can picture a guy with a harmonica and old coon hound on the front porch lazing in the heat. Nice story this weaves for me. |

Cabbage Headby MelonMusketeerComment by Germaine: So that's what they look like in the wild.
When I lived in Brazil we could buy fresh palmito (Portuguese for swamp cabbage) in the open market. The Joy of Cooking had instructions for preparing it, so I tried it a couple of times. Two kilos of fresh palmito gae me about a cup and a half of usable flesh which I served with a vinaigrette dressing. It was good, but not noticeably better than the stuff that came ina can from the supermarket.
Neat aerial shot. |

3D Daisyby MelonMusketeerComment by Jutilda: Macros are dear to my heart. You see things that you would normally ignore for lack of a clear view. I love zinnias. :) |
