Kachina #4by dsidwellComment by Pug-H: The lighting in your kachina pictures is quite effective; the photos bring to mind the work of that famous Western photographer of a hundred years or so ago - the name escapes me for the moment. Great work.
edit: I was thinking of Edward S. Curtis, though most of his photos were of people. Apparently, he's the 17th most collected photographer in the US. Message edited by author 2005-07-10 05:48:24. |

Butterfly Fantasy by dsidwellComment by mikala: Love it! Thanks for taking this and sharing it with all of us. Yes, after a few milli-seconds, they are obviously fake, but the initial 'wham!' is still great, regardless. |

River of Mist by dsidwellComment by Jutilda: Terrific. Love the angle from which you shot it. Beautiful focus and contrast. The image couldn't be more perfect. |

Spiral Jetty #1by dsidwellComment by dsidwell: The Great Salt Lake IS rising again, thanks to much snow and rain this past Spring. Whether or not it will cover this up is not yet certain. It has been covered before, however. Part of Smithson's reason for putting this artwork here is so that it would interact with the lake, with visitors, and with the local environment. |
