Ok, so I like the composition and how the three fence boards balance the heights of the sheep.
My question--are you purposefully going for the muted colors and duller look? It was obviously an overcast day. I played with this and did a levels adjustment and a curves adjustment and it really brought a lot of color and contrast into the picture.

I like the way you cropped it (or framed it, if this isn't cropped), it leads my eye on a Z. My eye starts w/the rich tones of the board fenced, the more suspicious face of the taller sheep is in a great spot to anchor the shot, but the more comical face of the 2nd (younger) sheep keeps my eye moving. I like the soft, misty light.

I like the look they are giving the camera and the different textures in their coats. The colour of the wooden fence works well as do the trees in the background.

Ah, thank you pixelpig: "street photography" makes it all work. The power of words. And robinssong, yes, that was the case - people park their dogs there all the time, and this one was a real sweetie, no issues at all.

This one is cool. So many things to look at. Makes you wonder what is going on outside the car. Of course on the flip side, I'm really hoping that it was not a hot day because the window is up! Bad for doggies :(

I love dog photos and this one is wonderful! The dog looks relaxed and slightly curious. Like someone was walking him and went into the store for a moment. Great B&w processing and tones.

It's not all that often I see street photography w/a dog as the subject. I like this as is, including the perspective of the bldg & even the leash/pole. What keeps my attention is the expressive face of that "small eyed collie cross." "D

Thank you for your thoughtful comments. The leash and pole are things I worried about, but not the sign, so I have something to think about. First concern was to get the pole and the end of the building (shot at the wide end) appearing vertical, but I thought the sign contributed to the into the distance aspect. Second concern to lighten the head which was in shadow without blowing out the rest of the photo. (No closer head shots - not my dog, but I still want to get his/her eyes).

I don't have a problem with the shadows at all - i think the high contrast works well in teh shot

Nice shot. Nice b&w conversion. Nice detail and texture in the dog's coat. If it were my shot, I'd remove the leash and crop a bit off the left side.
