It's troubling to me that this scored so low. But not surprising. It's composed so effectively, and the voters missed that, I think. The pole and straight lines anchor the shot and provide some relief from the dizzying (but beautiful) mix of grass and branches and foliage. Abstract but not quite. The only sad thing (as Steve mentioned) is that you didn't have the newly allowed 300KB to work with. All that fine detail suffers from the JPG compression. But I can see past that, and it's a great photograph.

Oh! What a nice thing to stumble upon, both your photograph of it and your stumbling upon it at the time. And that car just not quite there yet, but coming. Lovely! That leaning tree, the one you can just barely make out? That is a little scary.
