Dog visits with her master and whiles away the time hoping to see cat/s outside window. Conversion in Picassa/Irfanview, lots of fiddling. Just happens to be very similar to e301's With Dogs, though it is an older photo.

The original is so plain looking but the B&W silhouette really makes this jump out.

very nice done! I like those silhouettes and foliage, that looks like shadows on a wall. All the scene suggests absentee and expected

Very nice! It looks like a snow day to me, with the way the outside looks. That was a good call about the little extra crop too.

I like this, it has a great feel to it. I might have gone even a bit more extreme with the high key, getting rid of all of the trees outside to the extent I could, a blank canvas for the dog's imagination . . .

Thanks for all your great comments. Originally not a great photo - plastic on the windows, ugly window division, ill-defined dried flowers; converting to BW minimized some of this, and cropping brought out what I felt the dog felt, which is also what I used to feel about Sunday afternoon as a child. (Of my work on DPC, this and 'Lady' are the two I feel best about).

Hehehehe I'm loving seeing really high key images, another great one!

You know this caught my eye of course, because of the strong contrasts! I love how it looks like her ear is perked up. And the open chair behind her leads one to wonder what else is missing. Also cool is how the window seen kind of evolves from total blankness to a growing nature scene. Pretty cool!

Strong silhouette - I like the dog as a subtle touch.

I like the high contrast in this shot and the dog looking out the window in priceless!

I like the high contrast, and how the dog is just sitting there, waiting for its owner. To make this stronger, I would consider cloning out the dark vertical line those goes through the chair, although it would take a bit of time to do.

Great shilouette. All the highlights along the bottom of the table and chiar add some nice contrast in the darkest of spots.

You remind me that air space is sensual. To remove the space between the notes of music is what many musicians do. Yet when the beat is opened out, as in James Brown's music, the dancer can fit in better - same with visual arts. Let the viewer in. You did. I learn.

Really like the way this provides a dog's perspective.

First off I prefer this crop to the other one you have. Pity you couldn't hold more detail in the flowers in the vase when you hit the 'kicking high contrast' button. The dogs ear poised and listening is great btw.

I really like shots like this - very simple yet quite expressive. I like that there's still the hint of foliage outside the window - adds a nice depth.

Beautiful silhouette. I like the high contrast, just pure black and white.

Not sure how I stumbled over this, but I like it a lot. Very impressionistic. And great title.

i think the high contrast works well...sorta..i think its just a tad over done, looking at the color, it would have been nice to seen a little detail in the dog and in the wood of the chairs/table...but that might just be my style, awesome capture regardless!

the big window, the love or all house bound dogs

i find this image very interesting - the super high contrast works so well, especially since we can still glimpse a bit of detail of the face of the dog
