Looks like a history sort of shot. The trashed edge at the bottom is great for this. The image looks like it has been through a fire or some water disaster. It's a good twist on something that needed a twist to make it happen.

its a brilliant shot greg .. love the sepia tones .. it could almost be a photograph saved out'v that old cottage when it was being renovated .. a photograph taken many many years ago .. :)
