Day 18 Bridges (be gentle)by jonfrommkComment by Alicia: See now, if you ate more vegetables, you might have been able to comprehend those instructions better. *wink*wink*
But really - I admire your pioneering spirit here, Jon. The blue might be a bit misguided, but you did create a diptych and a good one at that. Love those Britishy photos you chose.
Now I'm going to have to get myself in gear and try some new stuff too! I mean, I can't let you learn things I can't do, afterall... :o) |

Day 17 Stonyby jonfrommkComment by Alicia: As you can tell by all the comments, we love it. It looks very British to me and lovely in its green, lush, interesting lines kind of way. Great story to go with it! |

Day 18 Bridges (be gentle)by jonfrommkComment by colorcarnival: This is really nice. I like the inner white frames - they look beveled maybe? I'm not a big fan of the bright blue on the inside but the outer blue is a great choice for the photo. I need to learn this too but have not made any initiative to do so lol.
I like your perspective on the bottom photo. Looks like an advertising piece.
Oh and nice greens too. I like the greens... |

Day 18 Bridges (be gentle)by jonfrommkComment by hajeka: It's always better to try something (with a good or bad result), than doing nothing.
Personally I don't like the big border and the (too) blue fields, but I think the combination of the two photos is nice. The light in the upper photo looks very flat, but you can't always choose the weather. |

Day 18 Bridges (be gentle)by jonfrommkComment by Charlene: Actually... this isn't as "awful" as you assume it to be. (sheesh, just like a guy to need reassurance ;) ) AnyHOOOO!.... I like the blue being that the subjects are bridges... which always make me think of water. I think the borders are very nice. But these images looks so lovely... I think they could very well stand on their own. Wonderful composition... colors, clarity, very nice. |

Fallingby jonfrommkComment by citymars: Cool shot, Jon. You caught a lot of open sky around the falling man. I gave this a 7, it would have been higher but for the heavy noise in the sky. I hope you don't mind, but as an experiment I copied your photo, selected the man using the wand, inverted the selection, and ran a high denoise function (I have Paint Shop Pro 9). It seemed to work well.
EDIT: posting at your suggestion:
Most people here don't know about parkour (le parcours) except for as seen in a couple of car commercials. I wasn't aware of it until I saw the movie Banlieu 13. It would be cool to see a live exhibition. Message edited by author 2007-07-19 13:33:42. |
