The shape of the lighthouse would suggest that this isn't in the UK - did other countries have Fisherman's Friend lozenges? The beam from the lighthouse reflecting on the water in such an understated way takes this from the mundane into something t=far more interesting. Nicely observed.

What's a friend - the light, the island (but at first I thought it was an alligator in the water), the birds? What - I'm not a fisherman. Ok, let's go with route - what's the 'Safety' item in this photo. Ahh - the fisherman MUST be in a boat so the light is helping to avoid running into the island when returning to port. Is that it?

Cool. Composition is good, lighting is good. Nice visual interest with the lighthouse and the birds on the rock. Too bad the lighthouse wasn't a bit brighter, but what are you gonna do in Basic.
