 This is my favorite tree in our yard. We planted this Ginko tree just after my son James was born.

I have always been fascinated by these living fossils, the parallel veins, the deep rich greens, the gorgeous angled leaves.

The morning light was streaming across the leaves perfectly this morning, and I grabbed my 60mm 2.8 and started firing. Some 200 shots later I had a nice collection to choose from. These little stinkers are hard to isolate due to the abundance of leaves - so I needed to give the tree a 'haircut' so I could isolate this especially pretty leaf. This one I especially liked due to the curve at the upper right and the deep green background.

Editing: Crop, Noise Ninja, selective color, curves, save for web, sharpen post resize, border.

I do like the vibrant green and the very fine, almost over exposed edge of the leaf.
