stepping lightlyby rozComment by willem: Very nice but in my view more like film-noir than chiaroscuro (although there is a connection between the two). Here the strong contrast is used the make the spider jump out from the background and to show its outline, which works well, but chiaroscuro is more about using the light to emphasise the shape of the object itself, for example roundness. (Impossible in macro) |

Orange Caterpillar Parasite Wasp with Dewdrops.by rozComment by Refocused: Another amazing capture Roz. Besides the beautiful and unique insect, the dew drops set this picture apart from other insect macros. To show the wasp and the dew drops in focus at the same time requires great creativity and skill. It must be fun searching for these little critters! |

hey Johanna .. there's an area of grass i don't mow which grows quite lush if the kangaroos don't eat it ..
the last two or three years there was no grass because of the drought but this summer we've had heaps of rain .. so it's really taken off ..
but I also photographer them on fences and trees, flowers, brick walls and bushes as well .. wherever I can find them really .. :) Message edited by author 2021-02-10 05:28:24. |
