Roz, so many of your pictures make me smile!!!

This is beautiful, sharp, great tones and contrast

but the thing I really love about it is the fact that the background almost looks it should be a shadow of the main subject (as if it was shot in a studio) then when you look at the 'shadow' shapes you realise that they are very different to the subject and it gives you a real 'what????' sensation (in a good way)

Love the way the sky looks in this image. It's just sunny day blue. You have a good connection with your piece of the earth, and it shows in your photos.

I hope that the fire didn't cause damage to your home or livestock. We have been having the 3rd worst drought in recent history here, and fires like this are all over. Somehow, I know exactly what this scene smells like.
Good that you got this before the brown leaves fell off the trees.

This is a very mysterious looking scene because of the light on the horizon. Just the right amount of color and detail in all of the foreground. Very nice to see.

Now this is differant, and I like it, actually I like it a lot.....
The first thing I see that I like, is the softness of the image.
I also love the wattle plant, (it is Australias National flower) in the foreground, as it is so well focused, and catches ones eye very quickly.
The magical DOF just behind the plant, along with the white high contrast background, complete this image just perfectly.....
