Whenever I try to take a closeup of something, a wind comes along and waves the flower or bug around so I get nothing but blur trails. So good for you that you managed to get this in focus despite the movement.

You don't have bumble bees? They aren't actual bees and they make a helluva racket, like a WW I fighter plane.

Here in Phoenix we don't have them, but we have June Bugs, which are all black and lumber through the air like they just smoked a big doobie.

What an interesting photo, Roz - so much to look at. Very cool that the Picton Hotel sign is right there - so we know where you are. And you are so funny to change the license plate to DOG. I saw that before I read your notes and was laughing that a beat up old truck like that would have a humorous license plate - but no, it was YOU! ha!!

Dreamy feel to this. Normally I'm a grain hater, but it really works here.

Seems strange to me to see pictures of insects and flowers. We are still in the depths of winter, so it will be a while yet! This is a great close up. I assume you were hand holding since you were out and about. It's very delicate.

Now, roz, it's a pretty safe bet that you would have taken this shot even if you were driving yourself. lol. I know I would have. Dogs and trucks - they go together, don't they. License plate is a crackup.

Yes, we have bigger bees, but I bet the stingers are about the same. Roz this is a truly beautiful creation. Great macro, and love that pastel background. The stem on the left completes the composition.
