Dogwoodby noranekoComment by jonfrommk: Top photograph.
Love the off centre symettry and the outstanding dof employed. The flower has a wonderful 3D effect
Superb! |

Americanaby noranekoComment by krnodil: Unfortunate with the flag obscuring her face, but with a candid like this you can't have everything. You have a very nice range of tones here in her skin despite the harsh light. This is a kind of photo that could invoke a lot of different emotional interpretations - looked at one way, she kind of has an anguished look on her face - without your mention that this was a spectator at a parade, her facial expression could be interpreted differently. The image makes you stop and think about it a bit. |

Brigadoon Harborby noranekoComment by jaysonmc: Another terrific shot. Nice lines and use of the frame.
Only suggestion, maybe revisit with a tripod and go for a 1 second exposure (may need a ND filter). This way you can get reflections in the water without the ripples, I think it might give it just that extra edge.
Still a terrific photo. Great capture. |

Americanaby noranekoComment by Alicia: Great moment in time. The woman's expression is really wonderful - you can tell that she's hot and the sun is intense. Yes, the flag on her teeth - well - it's a caught moment, so that stuff happens, but it's very, very expressive. |

Americanaby noranekoComment by SandyP: I love this so much Catherine. You're right. You captured such a real Americana moment. The photojournalism is just awesome.
You did a fantastic job making midday sun an asset to your composition. The high key, high contrast looks very intentional, artistic and like it wouldn't have been as good without it!
Fabulous job!

Salvation Bentby noranekoComment by bassbone: i love the textures and tones on this image. The perspective is really well set up - with just enough shadow to allow us to still see the bricks. The sagebrush in the lower left and the tilted Cross just add to the bleakness of this image. Looks like something right out of a 40-50s western. |

Salvation Bentby noranekoComment by bdenny: What an interesting setting! Very nice sky and the perspective really plays on how small the building is. |
