Taken in Maine last summer. Upped contrast, quite a bit of dodging / burning on petals and background. (I processed this before I got full version of Photoshop.)

The detail and texture in this is incredible. It makes me think I can reach out and feel it. Excellent exposure control.

I love this one. It really shines. Feels almost 3-D. Beautiful contrast.

love this - it just reaches out and begs for your attention. love how the lighting enhances the detail on the petals. does this have what people call a bokeh background? very pretty!

Wow! The post processing you did really brings out the details of the flower and really makes it the star of this composition. Love the textures you can see on each individual petal of the flower - one can almost reach out and touch the softness. Love the details of the background environment that this dogwood flower exists in. The surrounding nature is lovely and it does not overwhelm or detract attention away from your main subject. In fact it greatly complements it. Tones and contrast are absolutely wonderful in this shot. I really don't have any suggestions on how to improve or any critiques on this one for you did a fabulous job.

Top photograph.

Love the off centre symettry and the outstanding dof employed. The flower has a wonderful 3D effect

Superb!

Would like to see a little more detail across the face of the petals, other than that its a very nice photo with a suprising amount of background detail that doesn't detract from the subject. Well done.

Personally, I find this one totally exquisite. That 28-135 works well.

Wonderful image; I really like it. I'm looking at it and wondering what a wider crop with the flower to the upper right might have looked like, but I'm not sure it would have been an improvement. Good work on the dodging/burning, I don't see any evidence of it (which is good; my dodging/burning is always clearly visible).

Oh yes. .this would have been an awesome symmetry photo! But its so lovely as a black and white photo too. I think the white pops even more against the ferns and green background than it would have in color. It is beautiful.

Would have worked well in symmetry! My dogwood has yet to bloom. Very nice lighting going on here!
